      World Premiere - SH-101 PLUG-OUT SYNTH

World Exclusive Premiere of SH101 PLUG-OUT software synthesizer for System 1

SSR has a long standing history with many artists who have influenced electronic music. Acid House pioneers 808 State formed while studying a course at SSR in the 1980’s, and tracks from artists such as 2 for Joy, Awesome 3 and Together were recorded in our studios. Continuing this legacy, we are extremely proud to present this world exclusive event from our London campus.

During the evening David Ålhund, known for his world-wide performances in duo V-Topia, German group NUDE, as well as his movie soundtracks and productions under the pseudonym Tweeky, will be demonstrating the new SH101 PLUG-OUT software synthesizer, giving attendees an exclusive first look at this new Roland hardware.

As a programmer of preset sounds and music for a large number of Roland products for over a decade, David will also be delivering his signature performance with the Aira TR8, TB3 and VT3.

The evening is set to be not only a nostalgic journey into the classic sounds that shaped countless classics but a venture into the future through the eye of Roland’s Aira range of instruments.

An Audience with… Marshall Jefferson, Adamski, Luke Solomon and guests…

Later in the evening, Bullet Dodge’s Gareth Whitehead and Mike Greig from SSR London will be hosting an audience with Marshall Jefferson, Adamski, Luke Solomon and guests; discussing how Roland legacy equipment has helped shape the sound of electronic music. They will be looking at how their unique sound influenced many producers and classic records. Marshall, Adamski & Luke will be voicing their opinions on the new equipment and how they see this might influence the new generation of producers.

Throughout the session we will also be looking at Music Production education and how it can help today’s producers get a head start.

The event provides an exclusive opportunity to meet and question our special guests, key figures from Roland and SSR tutors, and provide a great opportunity to network with key music industry figures.

Background info on Speakers / Artists involved on the night:

      Marshall Jefferson
Marshall Jefferson is a main figure of the Chicago House scene and producer of early House anthems, like "Move Your Body". Jefferson is one of the first people to use the Roland TB 303 to create an ‘Acid House Track’ along with DJ Pierre.

      Luke Solomon
Luke Solomon has been a fundamental part of the dance music scene for well over a decade as part of the legendary Classic Recordings with Derrick Carter and as part of the band ‘Freaks’.

Adamski is best known for his international No.1 smash 'Killer' launching Seal, and playing a major role in the rave explosion of the late 80's / 90's is introducing a new music concept: 3STEP. And of course for his Acid House tracks "N-R-G" and "Killer".

2014 will see Bulletdodge release the debut album from label boss Gareth Whitehead.  The album will not be the usual 4/4 house and techno affair but rather a reflection on the history of the genres.  These musical mediations see Gareth pay homage to the industry pioneers who not only inspired him as a producer and DJ but have also shaped the musical direction of Bulletdodge.  Each track involves collaboration and sees Gareth working with the originator of techno, Juan Atkins; the godfather of house, Marshall Jefferson; the legendary house vocalist Robert Owens and the Brooklyn innovators Lenny Dee and Frankie Bones.  The album also includes appearances from newer talents and long-term Bulletdodge collaborators Carl Cox, Pig & Dan, X-Press 2, Darren Emerson, Detroit Grand Pubah’s, Space Djz’s, Tom Taylor and Werner Niedermeier.  To celebrate the album, Bulletdodge will also be releasing a series of singles, a remix album and a DJ mix containing a selection of the tracks from the project.
