      Significant Risk and effective communication Since the Health and Safety Executive’s CDM 2015 Regulations came into effect in 2015, we have been offering a range of courses on the Principal Designer role. We are happy to now be able to offer 1.5 hours and 2 hours webinars on the PD role. These are the only Principal Designer Courses offered by the RIBA. The RIBA accredited Principal Designer webinar series define and provide adequate “skills, knowledge, and experience” to a professionally agreed standard. To show awareness and capability to deliver this role there is an industry expectation for professionals to demonstrate attendance and knowledge attained. The webinar series provides comprehensive understanding of the regulations, context and background, as well as Principal Designer practicalities, using a range of case studies. Module five will cover the following topics: Communication of “Significant Risk”: How to communicate and demonstrate Significant Risk management to clients and the HSE? Lessons learnt from projects: what skills you didn’t know you had? Applying the Principles of Prevention. Examples by other delegates. Plan, do, check, act: Workstage collaborative CDM reviews, their facilitation and recording to produce workstage documents H&S File preparation and information required and NOT required What can go wrong and how to avoid it? The answer will be explained with the help of case Law and case studies Collaboration, teamwork not unnecessary paperwork and what NOT to do How to charge for the PD role? Speaker Paul Bussey, AHMMPaul is an RIBA chartered architect with over 30 years’ experience, working within both large and small practices both in the UK and abroad. Paul is currently Technical Consultant and CDM lead at, the Stirling Prize 2015 award winning practice AHMM Architects. He has developed a technical expertise in the application of all types of building related legislation and constructional guidance. In parallel to his role inleading CDM and Principal Designer services, Paul provides guidance to project teams on fire strategy and inclusive design matters. Paul sits on various HSE, RIBA and CIC Health and Safety expert committees and is an IMaPS member of the Association for Project Safety. Paul was part of the CITB/HSE Industry Guidance team for Designers under CDM 2015, and has authored CDM 2015: A Practical Guide for Architects and Designers (RIBA Publishing). Terms and Conditions Delegates need to use their full name when booking the event on Eventbrite and use the same full name when joining the webinar. If a third party is making the booking on behalf of the delegate, they will need to notify the delegate to use the same full name when joining the webinar. Please note we reserve the right to refuse entry if the names upon entry do not match the booking name. But an alternative booking name can be used if they do not want their full name displayed. This will need to be amended to reflect the above. CPD Club Tickets are non-refundable CPD Club Tickets can be held by an individual or a practice It is the ticket holder’s RIBA membership status which determines the rate If a CPD Club Ticket is purchased by an individual RIBA member, the ticket may only be used by that person If a CPD Club Ticket is purchased by a RIBA chartered practice, they will be charged the lower rate and the practice can have any member of staff attend each webinar; however, only individuals attending all six webinars can be provided with a certificate of attendance. One Club ticket provides you with one space at each of the modules. If a CPD Club Ticket is purchased by a practice which is not a RIBA chartered practice, they will be charged the higher rate, regardless of the membership status of the delegate(s) attending If a CPD Club ticket is purchased by a practice, the practice needs to provide the full names of delegates at least 48 hours prior to each event date by emailing PAYG cancellations are acceptable 10 working days prior to the event, please contact for cancellation requests. Substitutes are permitted up to a day prior to the event, please contact for substitution requests. Pay-as-you-go webinars may only be booked at the member rate by individual RIBA/CIAT members Refunds will only be provided for pay-as-you-go seminars if cancellation is made at least 10 working days before the event If you are unable to attend any webinars or substitute a delegate, please inform at least 48 hours prior to the event date. An email will be sent to confirm your place after you have made your booking via Eventbrite links or other methods. A second email confirming webinar link will be sent to you approximately 7-10 days before the webinar. If you require a purchase order to be quoted on your invoice this must be supplied at the time of booking. Invoices are payable within 30 days The RIBA accepts no responsibility for the views or opinions expressed by speakers or any other person at the event The event will be recorded for internal use only.  By accepting an invitation or purchasing a ticket you consent to your name being displayed as a visitor attending the webinar. But an alternative booking name can be used if they do not want their full name displayed. This will need to be amended to reflect the above. If the RIBA has to postpone or cancel the event the booker is entitled to a full refund of the ticket price only. The RIBA reserves the right to refuse admission to any ticket holder.
