      Picture the Heath 2019

      Win £1,600 worth of prizes. Let the Heath and Hampstead Village inspire you and inspire others. Picture the Heath is an annual drawing and painting event, which celebrates the Heath and its surrounding area, organized by Hampstead School of Art as part of the Hampstead Summer Festival. The event is open to everyone over 16. Drawing and painting day takes place on Sunday 16 June meeting at Kenwood House to register from 10am and then moving on to work from your chosen location. All finished work will be exhibited and judged during Art Fair Day at Whitestone Pond, NW3 1EA on Sunday 23 June. On this day, you must bring your picture by 9.30am to Whitestone Pond where your work will be displayed in the Picture the Heath Marquee. All works will be for sale and you must clearly mark on the back your name, media, price, contact details plus your Eventbrite order number, which is on your Eventbrite email booking confirmation (the link to the book is provided below). The work judged to capture the spirit of the Heath or surrounding areas will win prizes totaling £1,600.  Five prizes will be awarded including two courses at HSoA and three cash prizes. The prize giving will take place at 4pm. All unsold work must be collected on the same day, from 4.30-5.00pm so please do stay and enjoy food, live music and events at the Festival. Hampstead Heath and the local villages of Highgate and Hampstead are a wonderful environment in which to paint. The historic Keats House, Kenwood House, the Ponds, Heath Street and fabulous views of the city, an exhilarating juxtaposition of landscape and cityscape. All styles and media are welcome - watercolour, pen, ink, oil, acrylic, digital (please print), representational, abstract. You can choose anywhere in Hampstead to paint.  What time does it start? The registration opens from 10am.  Where does it start? The registration point is Kenwood.  Can I submit more than one picture? You can, but the £20 (+ booking fee) submission fee is per work. So for two works it will be £40 (+ booking fee).  Can I enter a work I painted beforehand? No, the competition is for new work only. What is the maximum size of work? The maximum size is 60x60cm (either framed or unframed) Can the frame have glass? No. All framed work must be perspex, acrylic or have no protective cover. Who decides the price? The price of the work should be decided by yourself. You can find advice on pricing your work here How much will I receive if my work is sold? You will recieve the full list price minus 50% commission. How will I get paid? Hampstead School of Art will send payment via Bacs no later than 28 days after the sale of work.
