      MBOKA FESTIVAL SHOWCASE - LONDON                                                   (Mboka means, 'Oneness', One Family in Wolof) Poets, Singers, Music and Film from SeneGambia’s premier arts and cultural festival showcase performances that they took to the festival in January 2018 and 2019. Film Screenings: Welcome to the Smiling Coast and Gifts from BabylonIndie Books Show Africa: Films from Mboka 2018 and 2019 Special event New Daughters of Africa in conversation and readings with editor Margaret Busby and contributing writers, Sefi Atta, Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi, Dorothea Smartt, Anni Domingo Honouring our Literary Ancestors - readings and performances to honour writers recently passed including Binyavanga Wainana and Andrea Levy Song, poetry and prose from Adinah, Patricia Foster-McKenley, Akila Richards, I-Sis and others to be confirmed. Music : Gambian DJ, Ebou and mixing other African Sounds DJ Debbie In partnership with Islington Council and Yaram Arts Delicious African Food will be available  from Excellent Catering. Eat at the event or 'cookery' style, bring your own empty dish and fill up! A range of Products for auction and sale!
