Powell Tuck Associates and The Kagi Project, in partnership with Japan Foundation, present a unique evening of talk and short performance to share the insights of THE鍵KEY, Francesca Le Lohé 's English / Japanese, site-specific opera inspired by Junichiro Tanizaki’s novel ‘The Key’ (1956).  As part of the London Festival of Architecture, this event will explore 2019 LFA’s theme ‘Boundary’, examining how performing in a private space can redraw boundaries between private/public and audience/performers. The immersive and intimate atmosphere created by performing in a house makes an audience member a voyeur, crossing privacy boundaries, feeling as though they are intruding on the characters. Francesca Le Lohe, composer and director of THE鍵KEYS, Bill Bankes-Jones, the artistic director of Tête a Tête Opera Festival, and Angus Shepherd , the director of Powell Tuck Associates who will host the performance at his house in August will explore how performing in a private house changes the experience of the audience and crosses the boundaries of public and private spaces. After two sell out performances in Tokyo in 2018 and 2019, THE鍵KEY will take part in prestigious Tête à Tête Festival at a private residence in Dulwich on 3rd& 4th August. Information and tickets Doors open at 6:15.  Drinks and refreshments will be provided.
