      Charity Accounting and Xero

Training Description: If you work for a nonprofit or charitable organisation as a bookkeeper or financial organiser, you will want to attend this free workshop which examines how Xero accounting software can help automate your bookkeeping, financial reporting for annual filings, and purposeful budgeting. Targeted to those whose charitable groups or organizations already have annual grants or donations of at least £50,000, this workshop will provide useful advice on how to expedite your payments process, invoicing, and grant/donation reporting. During the 2.5 hour session, we will illustrate key Xero functionalities and how to apply them to your work. Practical and interactive in style, this workshop will also explore best practices on how to recruit good bookkeepers or treasurers. More about the Workshop: The workshop lasts 2.5 hours and comprises an expert presentation, group work enabling attendees to share ideas and solutions, as well as time for individual networking. It will be conducted at the CVA Resource Centre by Mary Lee and Prasad Pallapothu. If you have specific needs, please let us know when booking your reservation. The workshop begins promptly at 10:00, so please be sure to arrive by 9:45am. Bookings Management: We expect these workshops to be very popular. Up to 30 people can attend. Reservations will be taken and assessed as received. Two weeks before the workshop, any available spaces will be offered to those on the waiting list. Workshop Presenter: An experienced chartered accountant, Mary Lee helps not-for-profits develop accounting systems, control procedures, and process transformation. She has spent 30 years supporting a wide range of charities, social enterprises, and sub-regional partnerships in streamlining bookkeeping systems, fulfilling Charity Commission reporting requirements, and providing analytics for boards of directors to make critical decisions. Following her corporate responsibilities, Mary has served as treasurer and financial adviser for a variety of not-for-profit organisations.
