Building resilience, Be the better you. We believe that Adversity Reveals Character. Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from adversity and hardships feeling stronger and more capable to cope than before. We all know life is not easy either professionally or personally. Some terrible things happen over which we have no control such as floods and earthquakes but in our day to day lives we can learn techniques to help us cope in the face of challenging circumstances. People's circumstances can change dramatically and suddenly; loss of job, loss of income, housing problems, financial difficulties, divorce and worst of all, bereavement. In the workplace there could be a bullying boss, difficult colleagues, pressure from clients but we can learn to achieve resilience through some lifestyle changes. We will work with you to give you the resilience to overcome problems, how to understand and how to deal with issues. Not only because of our training and lecturing background but mostly because we have done it ourselves. We will examine in depth the 7 C's of resilience: CONFIDENCE COMPETENCE CONNECTION CHARACTER CONTRIBUTION COPING CONTROL Your hosts : These workshops are run by Sue Dudson and Jim McCowen who in their work and private lives have faced adversity and overcome challenges across a wide range of issues.
