      Wetland Olympics

Wetland birds and animals amaze our visitors with their athletic prowess as they hop, fly, swim and climb to find their food. For example, did you know that the fastest creature on the planet can be seen at WWT London Wetland Centre? Our local peregrines can reach speeds of over 200 mph as they hunt in the skies over the Centre.

Join us on an Olympic journey around WWT London Wetland Centre to encounter some more record breaking wetland animals. You’ll meet the rarest goose and the smallest otter, and see some of the strangest and most puzzling animals.

Find out which bird migrates the equivalent of three trips to the moon and back over its lifetime, and time our diving ducks to find out which one stays under water the longest. You can also weave your own Olympic rings using natural materials, and grab a net for our twice daily popular pond dipping sessions.

London Wetland Centre's summer holiday activities continue until Sunday 2 September with "Be a Wetland Warden". Free, doesn't include admission.
