Unlocking Music: production in the streaming era

      Tempo has changed.

Join us for a talk about the past, present and future of the music production with Tommaso Colliva Grammy Awarded Sound Engineer & Producer (Muse, Gutter Twins, Phoenix, Franz Ferdinand, Calibro 35), Crispin Hunt (BASCA) & More TBA.

In not a distant past, an artist could spend years of energy, time and dedication for a big, expensive, hyper refined album cycle.

Producers could be hired for months, even years sometimes.

Then Napster came, starting the digital music distribution era.

The advent of new digital distribution models, now well represented by Spotify, did set a new pace for both artists and producers.

Nobody see this coming but now constant and shortly lived releases are required to anybody wanting to remain at top of the mainstream wave.

How did the music production change? What happend to the relationship between the artist and the producer? And how the new distribution models did influence the songwriting processes?
