      Junior Classical Coffee Mornings - Freya Goldmark, Itamar Rashkovsky & Andrew Samarasekara

      Freya Goldmark, 15, has performed in numerous recitals and concerts as a soloist including a tour of the Far East playing Vivaldi's Four Seasons and to The Rachmaninov Institute, Russia playing Mozart's Violin Concerto in D major. Freya has been at student at the Royal College of Music Junior Department since September 2011 and was recently awarded joint first place in the RCMJD's Gordon Turner Memorial Competition.

      Born in London in 1995, Itamar Rashkovsky began playing the violin at the age of 7. Accepted to the RCMJD aged 10, Itamar has since performed in many prestigous venues such as the Israeli Opera House, Cassa Tartini, Carnegie Hall and Cadogan Hall where, as a music scholar, he co-led and led King’s College School Symphony Orchestra for the world premiere of Robin Holloway’s “Gold on Bronze”. He was twice awarded the John Evans String Prize, and twice awarded prizes as a finalist of the Marjorie Humby Memorial Competition at the RCM.

      Andrew Samarasekara was born in 1997 and started playing the violin at the age of 5. He studies at the RCMJD and is a music scholar at Trinity School for Boys. Andrew took his grade 8 at 10 years old with distinction. Andrew is a member of the Trinity Boys choir and has been an member of Aldeburgh Young Musicians since 2008. Andrew is regularly invited to perform at festivals, competitions and concerts around the country.Repertoire

      Junior Classical Coffee Mornings

      Junior Classical Coffee Mornings give you the chance to listen to outstanding talent from the Royal College of Music Junior Department at Saturday morning classical recitals in the Hall's Elgar Room.

      Tickets include a hot drink and a pastry and cost £11. Doors open at 10.15am with music from 11am to 12 noon.
