      The City Walking Bazaar

      Monday 22nd April 2013

6-8pm at Cass Business School, City University London, 106 Bunhill Row, London, EC1Y 8TZ, Hub Restaurant, Level 3

An exhibition-based event and networking opportunity showcasing different approaches to walking and tours, plus artifacts about journeys both physical and metaphorical. This session will support an informal community of interest in urban walking, journeys and knowledge across disciplinary boundaries.

Exhibits may be poster or table-based and we also have side rooms to accommodate group activities at specific times. We are using the term ‘bazaar’ as we are keen to go beyond a static exhibition and to encourage conversation and exchange of ideas.

By using your tablets and smart phones we encourage you to join us as guests and also as informal exhibitors through sharing and engaging with others through whatever presentational devices, photo albums, or other relevant artifacts you might have in your pockets and bags!

The City Walking Bazaar is part of a series of events and workshops supporting the work of multipliCities, an ambitious platform for art, creativity and community, which supports the creation of new kinds of walking tours. As we learnt at our multipliCities Launch event on the 18th March, there is a huge reservoir of interest in urban walking and this bazaar sets out to informally bring together a wide variety of those with such interests.

Led my motiroti and in partnership with Oslo Museum and Centro Interculturale Mondinsieme, multipliCities has developed from an exciting intersection of culture, diversity, cities and technology. The first phase of the project will enable smartphone users anywhere in the world to engage with new and untold stories that we're revealing in the streets of London, Oslo and Reggio Emilia.

There is no charge for this event. If you’d like to join us at our City Walking Bazaar please book your place here.

If you would like to exhibit at this event please contact Professor Clive Holtham, 0207040 0289, c.w.holtham@city.ac.uk.

multipliCities is supported by the European Cultural FoundationArts Council of England and Creativeworks London and developed in partnership with Oslo Intercultural Museum and Centro Interculturale Mondinsieme. The launch week is realised in partnership with Cass Business School
